Fonds consists of records pertaining to Savaryn's participation in various community organizations and includes reports, administrative records, photographs, awards, studies, speeches, contracts, and newsletters. Fonds consists of records pertaining to the Savaryn family and includes material pertaining to Savaryn's university education, finances, newspaper clippings, personal correspondence and cards. Fonds consists of Savaryn's participation in the political community and includes campaign material. Fonds includes records pertaining to Savaryn's tenure at the University of Alberta as Chancellor and member of the Board of Governors and Senate and includes administrative materials and convocation information and programs. Fonds also consists of records of Savaryn's law practice such as ledgers. In addition to his professional records, the Peter Savaryn fonds also include personal archives such as photographs, negatives, Christmas cards and letters from family members back in Ukraine dating from the 1940s to 2000. The records are organized by organization and chronologically and encompass the activities of Dr. Savaryn -- both at professional and personal levels -- for approximately the last 50 years in Edmonton. Fonds includes five series: community involvement records (1921-2001), professional and career records (1951-2001), academic involvement records (1968-2000), political activity records (1958-2001), and family records (ca. 1940-2001).
