The fonds consists of materials created by the Athabasca School District 839 between 1903 and 1958. The fonds consists of minutes of school trustee meetings of Athabasca School District 839 from 1903-1945, correspondence,trustee nomination papers, reports of school inspectors and attendance officers, estimates, inventories, job applications, and financial records. There is a 1955 map of Athabasca School Division No.42, a copy of the 1937 Alberta School Act and Athabasca school registers from 1927-28, 1930 - 1935, 1941, 1942, 1943. The blueprints include the following schools: Ellscott, Calling Lake, Granville, Lahaieville, Perryvale, Rocky Ridge, Silver Fox, Smith, Spurfield and Twin Spruce as well as teacherages, toilets and a coal shed. There are partial sets of school registers for the following schools: Athabasca, Big Coulee, Boyle, Clover View, Crerar, Ellscott, Flat Creek, Forest, Forest View, Forfar, Gamefield, George Lake, Granville, Hondo, Meanook, Narrow Lake, Otter Creek, Parkhurst, Ranch, Rodger's Chapter, Silver Fox, Smith, Smoky Creek, South Athabasca, Winding Trail, Warren,and Youngville.

The fonds consists of materials created or collected by Ernst Feuereisen of Pelican Portage and dating from 1922 to [1977]. The fonds consists of trapping and hunting licenses, part of a 1922 map of Alberta,and photographs of scenes, people and places on the Athabasca River including Upper Wells. Some of the people are: Ernst Feuereisen, Joe Siemoni, Mr.Jones, Frank and George Senz, Gordon and Jim Carruthers, Henry Goegler (1884-1955), Joe Larson, Hans Birkigt, John and George Pederson, Bruno and Elsie Goetsch, Joe Laflamme, Ed Gambler, Rose Gambler, Kurt George (Dick) Naumann (1901-1978) and ? Kosloff. There is a photo of Ernst on the ship Thuringia out of Hamburg.

The fonds consists of minutes of the Quarterly Official Board of Athabasca United Church and its predecessor, the Athabasca Methodist Church; 1907 letters written by Charles F. Hopkins re: building the Methodist Hall on Strathcona Street; specifications for the 1912 construction of the Methodist Church, provided by architect E.W.Morehouse; photocopies of letters, register entries and financial statements; 1912, 1979, 1985 membership lists (including a 1912 membership list for "Pine Creek Coloured"); 1985 handbook, 1976-1987 registers of baptisms, marriages and funerals; and 1976, 1977 Colinton United Church meetings. The photographs include the July 1, 1916 Sunday School picnic and a Ladies Aid gathering in c1912 which included Mrs. Blackwell, Mrs. T.H.Bole, Mrs. Curry, Mrs.R.H.DeLancey (Alice Guscott), Mrs. Douglas, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Greer, Mrs. Elizabethh Guscott, Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Jarvas, Mrs. James Minns (Isabel), Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Place, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. A.L.Sawle (Clara Thomson), Mrs. Vandusen (Mary); and Rev.Thomas H.Bole and family leaving Athabasca in 1913. There is a program for the 50th anniversary of the United Church of Canada and also for the rededication of the restored building in 1986. This program contains a history of the building and a 1986 membership list with photographs. There is also a 1984 art print of the Athabasca United Church originally sketched by Barbara Jones.

Isreal CJJ Shank fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence and certificates of Isreal Shank including Olds School of Agriculture, his years in the RCMP, his involvement in numerous horticultural endeavours and cards from his 95th birthday. There is a booklet entitled "Jackie"(about a seagull) written by his second wife, Aileen Teal Shank, 2 books written by Isreal Shank: " Memories of a Mountie" and "Some Things I Remember", and a copy of Athabasca Album with an addendum of commentary. There are 23 photographs of Mr. Shank including a signed photo of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip; 1 audio cassette; and 4 artifacts : 1933, 175 lb. boxing championship medal, 1951 presidential plaque of Saskatchewan Horticultural Societies Association, 1936 Alberta Prosperity Certificate and a 1940s fur RCMP hat. The last addition is the 1952 document naming Mr. Shank as a Sub-Inspector in the RCMP. It is signed by Governor-General Vincent Massey. A scrapbook has items regarding the boxing prowess of Isreal and his brothers. Oliver represented Canada at the Berlin Olympics in 1936 as the light heavyweight champ of Canada.

Included are articles from the Beaver magazine: "Skippering a scow" on the Athabasca by N.A.Howland; "The Last of the Brigades" by Guy Blanchet; and "Inland Journey" by J.W.Chalmers (Treaty 8).
