A videocassette was filmed in Oct. 1989 when Dr.Robert Dykes of Prince George, B.C. spoke on the health issues connected to pulp mills. The 1993 videocassette is AL-PAC Progress Report #3.

Billy Salmond fonds

The fonds consists of six photographs and personal papers, including a permit to cut hay on Dominion Land; Kingston Business College workbooks relating to his education; a hotel register and account book from the Salmond Hotel; an envelope advertising Grande Prairie's Fourth Annual Agricultural Fair 1913; a 1916 program for an event in Spirit River; and some miscellaneous business account books and papers. In the series of 265 postcards, there are many with personal messages to Mr. Salmond.

Grande Prairie Board of Trade and Chamber of Commerce fonds

The fonds consists of executive and administrative records; subject files from both the Board of Trade and the later Chamber of Commerce; briefs, submissions and forums presented to various groups and government departments; project files from the time Grande Prairie achieved cityhood until the 90s; publications about the area produced or collected by the Board of Trade/Chamber of Commerce; reference files with news clippings and guest books that detail the history of the Board from 1914 on; information about associated organizations; and photograph and slide collections. The photograph collection mainly details progress in the Grande Prairie area from 1905 to 1980, and the activities of the Chamber after 1975. There is one reel to reel film, “Alberta on the North Side,” which was presented to the people of Northern Alberta on the occasion of the provincial cabinet meeting in Grande Prairie, October 17, 1972.

The fonds consists of 19 color photographs of the inaugural run on the Alberta Resources Railway—the three hour trip on the final day of the conference. Photographs show the train, the scenery and the dignitaries who were passengers on this trip. A few of the photographs are of a welcoming banquet at St. Joe’s High School and ceremonies marking the opening of the railway.
