B.G. Harvey fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of men in military uniform in different situations, and two portraits of a woman. The textual records include a letter addressed to Captain Harvey from the Department of National Defence, November 10, 1945; agenda of ceremony transferring the Alaska Highway, airports and telephone system from U.S. to Canadian ownership; sketch of location of ceremonies in Whitehorse, April 1,1946; 2 Certificates of Military Qualifications dated 1940 and 1941; a Mess Dinner Menu Oct. 29, 1945; and 2 cancelled envelopes. The map is of British Columbia and the southern portion of the Yukon and was produced by the Department of Mines and Resources, 1942.

John Hamilton fonds

The fonds consists of 136 photographs taken by John Hamilton while living in the Yukon when he worked for the White Pass & Yukon Route River Division as a deckhand. Subjects in the photographs include John Hamilton, Chester Hamilton, sternwheelers, WP&YR crew, the sinking of the sternwheeler Klondike I in 1936, and airplanes. Doug Bell fonds

The fonds consists of the files of Doug Bell kept in his personal filing system during his term as Yukon Administrator and then Commissioner, a period spanning 1979 to 1986. The fonds consists of working files on projects that Doug Bell was involved with; correspondence with politicians, civil servants, private citizens and others; speeches, messages and poems written by Bell; several imprint publications; over 400 photographs, most of which were collected by Bell's predecessors; and some miscellaneous material. They cover the period immediately after the Territory adopted responsible government, an event that greatly altered the Commissioner's powers and role. As well, they provide insight into many Yukon and federal government activities between 1979 and 1986. They also reveal much about the professional and personal sides of Doug Bell. The fonds also consists of five reels of negatives of aerial surveys of various Yukon communities taken in 1975. The fonds is arranged into the following series: I. Working files, II. Miscellaneous, III. Imprint and IV. Photographs. Accession #93/6 consists of contact prints, negatives and photographs of Clinton Creek which Mr. Bell received when he bought darkroom equipment. There are also contact prints and photographs of Dawson City Flood 1979 when Mr. Bell was chair of Emergency Measures Organization. Accession #94/79 (in process) consists of 2 guest books for the Commissioner's Levy for 1983-1986. These items were also used as guest books for the Commissioner's office.

The fonds consists of original photographs taken 1957 to 1964 in the area of what today is the Dempster Highway. Included are images related to oil exploration - camps, drilling, oil rigs, building a road, helicopters, and cat trains hauling supplies. Also included are 32 photographs (1963-1964, 1989) depicting scenes and people from Dawson City and Whitehorse, Yukon, Duncan Creek and Castle Rock on the Top of the World Highway.

R.M. Dickey fonds

The fonds consists of the original personal diary of Reverend R.M. Dickey from August 1897 to October 1899. It describes his daily activities, including encounters with Soapy Smith while in Skagway, Alaska. It also describes his trip to Bennett over the White Pass Trail and down the Yukon River to Dawson City and his final destination, the Klondike Gold Fields. The diary is interspersed with newsclippings from the local paper in Skagway. Also included is a flyer advertising an illustrated lecture, 1912, by Rev. Dickey, "Pionerring with the Gold Seekers of the Klondyke".

The fonds consists of ten original photographs of the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Whitehorse, Yukon, line-ups at the bank during the construction of the Alaska Highway, a bank branch in a Quonset hut at Johnson's Crossing, and the bank staff Christmas 1943.

The fonds consists of copy negs and reference prints of photographs taken by Roger Tait when he was a steward on the sternwheeler Tutshi, ca. 1952-1953. Included are scenes of the Tutshi underway and moored at Carcross, Yukon, the captain and crew, views of Carcross including George Rose's residence, Carcross Desert, and scenic views of Windy Arm.

George Richard Bolton fonds

This accession consists of a typewritten report titled "Yukon Trip", written by George Bolton in his capacity as an auditor of the Unemployment Insurance Commission of Canada. It details a trip taken by Mr. Bolton and George Hadden in 1952 from Prince George to Dawson City and return. Mr. Bolton writes about the driving experience on the muddy roads, the communities visited, and their accommodations. The final pages of the report are missing. The fonds also includes one black and white photograph of a man and dog, with "Alex Adams Dawson City" written on the back.
