Roberts family fonds

The fonds consists of photographs, negatives, a glass negative, and postcards depicting scenes from northern Alberta, such as Fort Chipewyan, from the North West Territories such as Fort Smith and Fort McPherson, from central Alberta such as Edmonton and Gibbons, and from British Columbia, such as Dawson. Many photographs depict men tracking scows up river through river rapids, often the Athabasca and the Peace River, as well as various agricultural scenes. There are also photographs of Native Americans, dog sledding teams, and friends and family members, as well as wedding photographs from the marriage of Richard and Edith Field and photographs of the Lost Patrol and their memorial service. Textual records consist of letters and cards to and from family members, calendars, books, including Bibles translated into Cree, newspaper clippings, paintings, picture albums, and letters of ordainment for Rev. O.J. Roberts. Artifacts include Native American artifacts such as leather gloves, moccasins, pouches, and beadwork. Also included are tools such as nails, scissors, knives, axe heads, metal buckets, baskets, and scrapers. The fonds include a medicine chest containing bottles of medicine, as well as jewelry and R.N.W.M.P. uniform buttons.

The fonds consists of records created or collected by Dr. Hatfield that relate to his professional education and medical practice, and includes records pertaining to Dr. Hatfield's service to his professional community, and at the provincial and federal levels. The fonds also contains records reflecting Dr. Hatfield's activities in the United Church and his numerous personal affiliations with other organizations and societies. These records include personal correspondence, medical training notes and research papers, certificates of recognition for professional and personal service, teaching and lecture materials, speeches, presentations and sermons. The fonds also includes records created or collected during Dr. Hatfield's tenure on the Royal Commission on New Reproductive Technologies, consisting of correspondence, briefs and presentations, research records and reference materials.

William Aberhart fonds

Fonds consists of records created and collected by William Aberhart over approximately thirty five years. It contains speeches and publications pertaining to his political career and research notes, sermons and other material pertaining to his involvement with the Calgary Prophetic Bible Institute, the "Back to the Bible Hour" and other groups as well as correspondence with his niece, Irene (Aberhart) Barrett and other associated material. The fonds is arranged into three series, including (I) Political speeches, 1932-1943, (II) Spiritual works, ca.1902-1943 (predominant ca.1918-1943) and (III) Irene (Aberhart) Barrett series, ca. 1885-1943. The fonds also contains two hats owned by Premier Aberhart -- a top hat worn by Aberhart during the Queen's visit to Edmonton, and a bowler hat.

The fonds consists of a book entitled: Sisters of Providence of St.Vincent de Paul by Sister Mary Electa in 1961; ideas for the redesign of the Lessard house floor plan to accommodate 23-30 students, photocopied pictures of the first group of girls at Rosary Academy in Sept.1948, and pictures of the Home for the Aged and Chronically Ill. There are also photographs of the sisters who served in these two capacities.

The artifact is the official school stamp. The photograph is of the United Church Women's group of the area. There is a two page history of the church and the school.
