Dr. Frederick Heymann fonds

The fonds consists of records created or collected by Dr. Heymann in the course of his varied careers as journalist, historian, and writer. The records include personal correspondence, registration papers and letters of transit during his time as editor before the war, and from his stint as a war correspondent. The records also include drafts and final copies of his scholarly writing, presentations at conferences and symposia, and notes taking during his historical research. The fonds is arranged into two series: (1) Personal Papers; and (2) Scholarly Activity.

Merron Chorny fonds

The fonds consists of records created or collected by Dr. Chorny over the course of his life and his career. The records reflect his education from grade school to his Doctorate and include photographs, registration papers, graded assignments, his Masters thesis and his dissertation. The records also include correspondence and teaching materials from his career as a high school teacher and principal, and also reflect his creative writing with articles and the drafts of a novel he wrote. Chorny was active both provincially and nationally with teaching associations and the records reflect his close ties with the English Council of the Alberta Teachers Association and his creation of the Canadian Council of Teachers of English. Records include correspondence, photographs, newsclippings, and newsletters.

The fonds is arranged into six series: (1) Education; (2) High School Teaching Activities; (3) Creating Writing and Scholarly Publications; (4) Professional Activities and Affiliations; (5) Personal Records and; (6) Ephemera.

Dr. Herman Konrad fonds

The fonds consists of records created or collected by Dr. Konrad over the course of his life and throughout his career. The records include the journal created by Konrad from his seminal trip to Paraguay as a volunteer with the Mennonite Central Committee, his post-graduate research and the scholarly activities undertaken as a faculty member at the University of Calgary. These records include research and field notes, drafts of articles and conference presentations, transcripts of interviews, background research including newspaper clippings for the Calgary Stampede project, and notebooks of archival research from Mérida, Yucatán.
The fonds is arranged into four series: (1) Early and Post-graduate activities; (2) Chicle Industry Research; (3) Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Research; and (4) Professional Affiliations and Scholarly Activities.

Rothney astrophysical observatory fonds

The fonds consists of records primarily created or collected by Dr. Milone and Dr. Clark during their multi-decade tenure as co-Directors of the RAO. The records chart the early visions for the observatory and the gradual accumulation of equipment and infrastructure to support teaching and research. Records include correspondence on the acquisition of the land, the purchase of the first telescope (.4 m), subsequent telescopes and mirrors (1.5 m and 1.8 m), the photometry system, and the construction of the domes and the Visitor Centre. The records also include grant applications, budgets and financial materials, and administrative records including meeting notes, agendas and correspondence. Graphic materials document celebrations and ceremonies, and also the various milestones achieved by the acquisition of equipment and construction of various building components as well as teaching activities and outreach including Open Houses.

The fonds is arranged into five series: (1) History and Development; (2) Administration and Operations; (3) Technology and Infrastructure; (4) Teaching and Research; and (5) Graphic Materials.
