After graduating from Alberta College in Edmonton, Beth worked in Toronto at Dearborn Chemical Co. Ltd., Goodwin Harris Co. Ltd., and the Royal Muskoka Hotel near Rosseau, Ontario.
The Imperial Bank of Canada on the north-west corner of Richmond Avenue was later occupied by Central Jewellers on the ground floor and Cal's Barber Shop.
On the east side of Clairmont Road the old Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is closed for renovations. This building first housed Bird's General Store.
The Gulf gas station at the northern entrance to the city of Grande Prairie is included in a highway commercial strip of agricultural, industrial, commercial and auto dealerships.
