Royal visit of The Prince and Princess of Wales and the Universiade Games

Subseries consists of photographs of the Edmonton portion of the official state visit of The Prince and Princess of Wales to Canada in 1983. Prince Charles and Princess Diana, The Prince and Princess, toured cities in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, and finally Edmonton, Alberta.
On July 1, 1983, The Prince and Princess officially opened the 1983 Universiade Games held in Edmonton, which took place from July 1 - 11, 1983. The photographs in this subseries cover The Prince and Princess' stay in Edmonton from June 29 - July 1, 1983.

Also included is the athlete's village handbook and other paraphernalia from the Universiade Games.

Subseries consists of photographs of the Alberta portion of the official state visit of Prince Andrew and Princess Sarah, The Duke and Duchess of York, to Canada in 1987. The Duke and Duchess toured cities in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. The photographs in this subseries cover The Duke and Duchess' stay in Alberta from July 22 - July 25, 1987.

Subseries consists of photographs of the Alberta portion of the official state visit of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother to Canada in 1985. The Queen Mother visited Ontario, Saskatchewan, and finally Alberta. The photographs cover her stay in Alberta from July 16 - 19, 1985. Also included are itineraries for the Queen Mother's entire visit to Canada.

Subseries consists of photographs of the Alberta portion of the official state visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Canada in 1978. The Queen toured Newfoundland, Saskatchewan, and finally Alberta. The Queen was accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince Andrew, and The Prince Edward. On August 3, 1978, The Queen officially opened the 1978 Commonwealth Games held in Edmonton, which took place from August 3 - 12, 1978. The photographs in this subseries covers The Queen's stay in Alberta from July 31 - August 6, 1978.

Also included are official visitor's guides and information manual for volunteers at the Commonwealth Games.
