Vader-Grimm Family fonds

This fonds contains records related to the Grimm, Vader, and Scott families. The material is largely concerned with time spent in Rycroft but this fonds also contains records created in Nebraska, Spirit River, and Calgary. The records consist of approximately 1500 photographs and negatives depicting farm life, school classes, locations, and people; newspaper clippings, pamphlets; posters; 2 family histories; 2 undated and unlabeled photograph albums; account books; and certificates.

The fonds has been arranged into the following series: Vader Family (1800-1980), Grimm family (1800-1980), and Ora and Edith [Vader] Grimm (1908-2008).

Gordon & Edna Moyer fonds

The fonds consists of records of Edna's Camrose Normal School "criticism of lesson" reports and other documents related to teacher training (1921-1958), a sample lesson plan (1922), two teaching certificates,(1923, 1958), superintendents' reports from the schools where she taught (1925-1926), correspondence from school authorities and from students' parents, (1923-1977), a biography by Gordon, the given by J.E. Birdsall in honour of Gordon, a speech given at his funeral and two issues of the Ford Farming magazine (Spring, Fall 1953), a Swanavon School opening program, a copy of a travel itinerary, her Christmas greetings letter (1989), and seven photographs related to her school history. Gordon's records include a Dept. of Agriculture letter asking him to serve as a director of the W.W. Albright Scholarship Fund, a news clipping showing a group of Canadians admiring his prize oat sample (1946-1953) and "The Book of Mom which Alice (Moyer) Lewis has written about growing up in Elmworth.

Betty Welter fonds

The fonds consists of school memorabilia and paper artefacts from Betty’s childhood, building the Welter family home, and her volunteer activities; certificates and news clippings detailing Betty’s activities with the Canadian Red Cross, and a book of minutes from the Local Association (Mother’s Auxiliary) of Guides, Brownies and Rangers from 1965-1970; a writing portfolio of biographies of the Smart family and Jack Welter, as well as memories of incidents which happened in her childhood, her teenage years and years as a young wife including income tax forms from 1943-1973; a wide subject range of photographs, from local Grande Prairie scenes and people to the construction of the Alaska Highway; and research files containing material researched for the archives: Miller’s Taxi; Teen Town; and a publication "The Inside Track" which traces the history of Union Tractor which Betty's husband Jack worked for. An accrual in 2010 consists of plans and blueprints of the Welter house and their duplex.

Phyllis Stewart fonds

The fonds consists of the records of farm and personal records of the Stewart family, musical scores belonging to the Mattoon family, Phyllis' career as a teacher, farmer, county councillor and member of the Conservative Party; and materials preserved and collected from Bezanson School District 3302. The photographs are mostly of school classes and events.

The fonds consists of records relating to the Hodgson family. The records have been divided into nine series; John Fulton personal & financial; Fulton Lea & Sophia Hodgson personal, financial and correspondence; family photographs from Kinistino and Hythe; Edna Hodgson's scrapbook; Hodgson's Mill; H.O.P. Lake/One Island Lake and Hodgson family tree.
The records have been arranged by the Archivists by content and chronology into the various series and files. The records came from so many individual sources, the overall original order of the records had been obscured. The Archivists imposed the order now shown by the records.

Anton Dahl family fonds

The fonds consists of farming records belonging to Elmer and Ben Dahl. These include tax records; correspondence related to a cattle association formed under the government's "Cattle Bill" which encouraged farmers to raise cattle by offering loans to the association for purchasing stock; and a letter from Anton Dahl just before his death. Also included are four photographs, and in an accrual, a photo of Halcourt United Church and a poem about the church, "Saved by Grace" written by Josie Dahl and published in the Beaverlodge Advertiser May 22, 2002.

William Alexander Family fonds

The fonds consists of family photographs, correspondence, and genealogical records of the William Alexander Family. The photographs ([ca. 1966]-1980) show William Alexander, his wife Emilie Dannhauer, and their families, the Alexander children in Strathcona, Rycroft, and Grande Prairie, various boats on the Peace River, the Fort Fitzgerald wood camp, the Art Alexander family in Hudson's Hope, the O'Brien girls, Maggie and Emil Baron and their children, Ed and Bill Alexander in their army uniforms, and the Alexander gravesite and O'Brien Park.

The correspondence (1896, 1915-1986) includes letters from Emilie Alexander to her mother Caroline Dannhauer, Pringle to Bill Alexander, R. B. Leslie to the Alexanders, Bill Alexander to his sisters and father, Ed Alexander to his sister Maggie and father, William to his daughters, Aunt M. F. Wells to Jean and Maggie, Aunt H.(?) A. Alexander to Jean, Aunt Jessie Fairweather to her nieces and nephews, Art and Violet Alexander to his sister Maggie, Harry Newgord to Ed and Bill, cousin Ella F. Lyell to Jean and Maggie, W. J. C. Reed & Sons Solicitors and Notaries Public to Maggie, cousin Jessie (nee Bell) to Jean Pearce, Emil and Maggie Baron to their daughter Jean Pearce, cousin Jessie (nee Bell) to Violet Alexander, cousin Helen Truscott to Jean Pearce, Paul and Caroline Dannhauer to Sidney Truscott, Jean to her sister Maggie, cousin Jim Blacklaws to Maggie, Jean to niece Jean Pearce, cousin Wayne to Jean Pearce, cousin Isabel Besley to Jean Pearce, and the Public Archives of Canada to Jean Pearce.

The records were arranged in a series of binders and albums, as assembled by Jean Pearce. They have been selected and rearranged by the Archivist into chronological order. The photographs have been left in the order they were given by Jean; not every photograph in the albums was copied.
