Fonds consists of Howard Douglas papers and Douglas family photographs. Textual records pertain mainly to the Pablo-Allard buffalo acquisition, 1910-1911. This includes correspondence between Douglas and prospective participants in buffalo hunt of the Pablo-Allard herd on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana, U.S.A. mainly circular letters, telegrams, etc. from applicants and confidential letters between Douglas and Alexander Ayotte, assistant immigration agent Canada, Montana re the ill-fated last buffalo hunt. Also includes photocopies of miscellaneous clippings and Douglas biography, 1963, by Marie Douglas. Photographs, 1895-1941, pertain to Douglas family and friends, visitors, social activities; also trips, especially Jasper, Alberta area, scenic views, road construction and Pablo-Allard buffalo roundup

Fonds consist mainly of photographs by Edward Cavell, 1973-1975. Consists of 6 x 6 cm. negatives with corresponding contact sheets and some identification lists for four projects: I. Copy and on-site shots for Banff Springs: The Story of a Hotel, 1973, ca.209 negatives plus contact sheets and enlargements; II. Landscape photographs for Rocky Mountains highway guide book, Waterton to Jasper, with Jon Whyte (incomplete), 1974, ca.700 negatives with contact sheets and identifications; III. Stage shots of Phil Nimmons Quartet at the Banff Centre, 1974, 84 negatives and contact sheets; IV. Ground and aerial survey of Cascade Fire Road for Banff Warden Service, 1975, ca.257 negatives and contact sheet. ; Also includes photographs collected by Cavell for personal and research purposes, including Tepee at Bow Lake, hand-coloured print by Byron Harmon; "Dedicatory services at Mount Eisenhower 1958" by Bruno Engler, Alpine Films, Banff; Rocky Mountain scenic postcards by several publishers, including Byron Harmon and Bill Gibbons; slide copies of photographs by Charles Horetzky, Walter D. Wilcox, William Notman, Byron Harmon and [Ernest Brown].

Fonds consists of photographs, 1913-1956 pertaining to climbing, guiding, backcountry skiing, and film-making of "Emperor Waltz", filmed in Jasper. Also included are personal photographs, 1935-1950. Photograph album pertains to farming, 1935 and includes ca.25 postcards re Jasper area and Europe, ca.1940 - ca.1950. Textual records include certificates, passports, and published articles, 1913-1956.

Includes set of aerial views of Lake Minnewanka and area produced by the Department of National Defense, pre-1940. Professional photography series consists of standard photographs, panoramas, transparencies and textual records;Writing series contains manuscripts, published magazines, book outlines, newspaper articles and letters to the editor;Natural history series contains bird and plant records, and other natural history papers;Other interests series consist of clippings, annotated books and collected material;Riggall family series contains Bert and Dora Riggall family papers and photographs, Williams family photographs, Frederick W. and Fanny Riggall papers and photographs, and Allan Riggall papers and photographs. Negatives and transparencies pertain to Andy Russell as a young man with Bert Riggall.

Fonds consists of Bo Holroyd warden journals for 1920 to 1947 (1928 journal missing). Journals present a personal record of work activities as Park Warden and Supervising Warden of Waterton Lakes National Park. Details pertain to patrols, horses, fire control, trail building and maintenance, search and rescue, fish and wildlife duties, law enforcement, supervision, administration, etc. They contain particularly valuable observations on ungulate populations, wildlife management, game, warden service duties and programs and human activity in the park.

Fonds consists primarily of presentation album titled "Landscapes," containing one hundred views along the Canadian Pacific Railway in the Rocky and Selkirk Mountains. The album contains many popular views of the period and is inscribed to "W. Whyte Esq., General Superintendent, Western Division C.P.R., Winnipeg. With Boorne & May's Compliments. Calgary. January 1889." Also includes individual prints of similar views to those in the album and include views as far west as Yale, B.C. Twenty-two prints, attributable to Boorne and May through photographer numbers and titles on the fronts, are stamped "From J. Nicholson, Photo Artist, Boissevain, Man." on the reverse. Nicholson was a professional photographer at Boissevain, Manitoba between 1888 and 1893. His business was sold to Jas. E. Miers in 1893.
