Athabasca Jubilee Celebration Committee fonds

The fonds consists of minutes and correspondence of the Jubilee Celebration Committee from 1960 to 1961; newspaper articles; a special 1 issue newspaper entitled "The Landing Trail Post"; a programme and audiotape reels (duplicated on two DVDs) of the play "The Athabasca Story" written by John Havard and produced Sept.4, 1961. The 16 mm film "Land of Athabasca" was part of the play. Two audiotape reels are excerpts from the sound track of the play and were broadcast on CKUA radio Aug.27, 1961. The film is credited to Havard-Bolch Productions and includes moving pictures of the Athabasca River, bridge and town from the air; street scenes, creamery, school bus; a pottery display with the sign "Brick and Tile by Northwest Ceramics Ltd. Edmonton, AB" made from Athabasca clay; Imperial Lumber building, planing mill and sawdust burner as well as loading lumber into a boxcar; the cenotaph, train station and water skiing at Baptiste Lake. A 1996 letter from Mrs. John Havard re: copying film.

Ken and Doris Sutton fonds

The fonds consists of materials created by Ken Sutton of Calling Lake, Alberta between 1968 and 1994. The fonds consists of photocopied pages of Mr. Sutton's diary concerning a 1968 forest fire, and personal reminiscences of events that occurred during his work life. There is also a photograph of a McCormick-Deering threshing machine taken on Ken's father's farm west of Alcomdale in the 1920s. Other photographs were taken at Calling Lake and include Treaty Day 1964, the first Sutton home, the Mennonite Church, the Post Office, Moose Horn Market, and the aftermath of the 1984 tornado in the Big Coulee area. Doris Sutton took a photograph of the 1966-68 archeological dig at Calling Lake which was headed by Dr. Gruhn. She also made postcards of some of her photographs, and molded animals from Athabasca clay.

The fonds consists of a notice for the 1989 Playwright's Workshop Montreal Ryga retrospective; photocopies of tributes and letters to Mrs. Norma Ryga on the death of George; photocopies of newspaper and magazine articles and Dr. David Gregory's nomination of George Ryga for a posthumous Honorary Doctorate at Athabasca University; poem: "The settler 1900-1950", copy of the short story "Smoke" published in The Correspondent 1924-1949 which was the newsletter for the Correspondence School Branch; and audio cassettes of interviews and productions of George Ryga's poetry, plays, choral pieces and stories.

Carrie-Ann Lunde fonds

The fonds consists of a draft copy of the results of Carrie-Ann's research: "The Athabasca Clay Products Company collection at the Royal Alberta Museum". A bibliography is also included. The Athabasca Clay Products collection at the Royal Alberta Museum began with a donation in 1986. In 2006 150 pieces of pottery were donated by the company's owners, Ed and Phyllis Polanski. In 2008 Carrie-Ann Lunde worked as an intern for the Royal Alberta Museum gathering information on the Athabasca Clay Products.
