Fonds consists of Earle Birney textual records, 1896-1971, n.d. recordings of Birney reading his works, 1967, 1982; and portraits of Birney, ca.1967. Textual records are excerpts from the Earle Birney papers pertaining to Banff and the Canadian Rockies; including correspondence, 1918-1924, biographical material, 1971, drafts of poems, 1941-1952, printed material, 1948-1970, and Birney family correspondence, 1896-1917. Poems include: "Ballad of Kootenay Brown", "Biography", "Bushed", "Conrad Kain", "Holiday in the Foothills", "Leaving Yellowstone", "Oldster". Correspondence is mainly from Charles Brown to Birney. Printed material includes short story: "Mickey was a Swell Guy," set in Banff during the First World War. Recordings are "David" [1967] and "Nexus and Earle Birney", 1982

Stage shots of Phil Nimmons Quartet at the Banff Centre, 1974, 84 negatives and contact sheets; IV. Ground and aerial survey of Cascade Fire Road for Banff Warden Service, 1975, ca.257 negatives and contact sheet. ; Also includes photographs collected by Cavell for personal and research purposes, including Tepee at Bow Lake, hand-coloured print by Byron Harmon; "Dedicatory services at Mount Eisenhower 1958" by Bruno Engler, Alpine Films, Banff; Rocky Mountain scenic postcards by several publishers, including Byron Harmon and Bill Gibbons; slide copies of photographs by Charles Horetzky, Walter D. Fonds consists mainly of poems by Gordon Burles, 1970-2003; includes twenty-two hundred works, some with revisions. Some pertain to personalities such as Bill Peyto, Norman Sanson, Margaret Stone, Walter D. Wilcox, Walter J. Phillips, Conrad Kain and Georgia Engelhard. Also includes manuscripts, research materials and notes etc. regarding Bill Peyto, Copper Mountain Mine, Banff National Park museum and logging roads in Johnson Lake area. Photographs pertain to remains of hay rake and wagon at Vermilion Lakes, 1975 and remains of the Queen of the Hills Mine, near Silver City, 1977. CD-ROMS's contain typeset copies of manuscripts by Gordon Burles in Pagemaker, In Design and .pdf file formats. Boorne and May fonds

Fonds consists primarily of presentation album titled "Landscapes," containing one hundred views along the Canadian Pacific Railway in the Rocky and Selkirk Mountains. The album contains many popular views of the period and is inscribed to "W. Whyte Esq., General Superintendent, Western Division C.P.R., Winnipeg. With Boorne & May's Compliments. Calgary. January 1889." Also includes individual prints of similar views to those in the album and include views as far west as Yale, B.C. Twenty-two prints, attributable to Boorne and May through photographer numbers and titles on the fronts, are stamped "From J. Nicholson, Photo Artist, Boissevain, Man." on the reverse. Nicholson was a professional photographer at Boissevain, Manitoba between 1888 and 1893. His business was sold to Jas. E. Miers in 1893.
