Fonds consists of military service and personal records of Dr Thomas Erwin (T.E) Brown, a veteran of both World Wars and a doctor in Taber and Lethbridge. Records include Brown’s military notebooks, ration books, field notes and correspondence; an account book from Brown’s medical practice in Taber in the 1930s and pamphlets relating to pediatric medicines; photographs of Brown’s family; and a sketchbook with Brown’s drawings of his home and family.

The fonds also includes newspaper clippings related to the coronations, abdications, and deaths of members of the royal family dating from 1919 to 1937.

Miss Purcell reviews changes in the nursing profession since her graduation in 1936, the development of the hospital, college and university training programs and the rise of nursing associations and unions.

The fonds consists of two volumes entitled "A 75 Year Pilgrimage," comprised of biographies of members, residents, and patients of the Good Samaritan Society and Care Centres who had lived in Alberta for seventy-five years or more. The volumes were prepared for Alberta's 75th Anniversary. The biographies are accompanied by photographs of the members, residents, and patients.

The images date from the early 1900's to the early 1970's, predominantly from 1902-1955. Collection also includes a copied newspaper clipping about St. Joseph's Hospital circa 1961.
