The fonds consists of bylaws, assessment and tax rolls, summary of assessment, individual assessment and tax rolls, correspondence, tax recovery register, register of forfeited lands, tax arrears list, debenture register, correspondence, cash book receipts, disbursements, minutes of the following former local authorities of the Municipal District of Peace No. 135, and the Municipal District of Peace No. 857 dating from 1917 to the 1950s. The fonds consists of material used, maintained, and created by Gordon Taylor while serving as Minister of Highways from 1958-2967, as a Member of Parliament for the Progressive Conservatives dating from 1979 to 1988, and as the Social Credit MLA for Drumheller constituency. The fonds also consists of records from the real estate and insurance businesses Taylor purchased in Drumheller in 1946, and from “Camp Gordon,” which he organized and ran from 1932-1966. Types of records in the fonds include copies of House of Commons proceedings; and office files consisting of research notes, clippings, conference packages, correspondence, speeches, addresses, maps, and photographs. Subjects discussed in the files include abortion, religion, First Nations, immigration, rural Alberta, transportation, natural resources, utilities, and labour and unions.

The series consists of correspondence, photographs, speeches, professional writings, memoirs, records related to his legal and municipal career, records related to his family's time in North Dakota, personal recollections related to the First and Second World Wars, certificates, and diplomas. There are also many records related to Bisset's career as a judge and City Alderman. These include copies of speeches, reports, correspondence, council material from the Dominion Conference of Mayors held in Montreal in 1935, photographs of the inauguration of Overland Mail Route (1943), and Canadian Federation of Mayors and Municipalities conferences records.
