Hudson's Bay Company fonds

The fonds consists of two fur-trade ledgers which detail transactions between the Hudson’s Bay Company at Dunvegan and individuals trading with this post. The first ledger (8 ½ x 13” and 160 pages) dates between 1834 and 1840, and the second ledger (9 ½ x 14” and 160 pages) is from 1861-1863 and contains many First Nations hunters, some identified by aboriginal names and some by the more common French names.

Unchaga '94.

Ukrainian dancers perform at Unchaga '94, a celebration of peace and cultural diversity, held at Dunvegan and including the opening of the interpretive centre there.

German Musical Troupe.

German dancers from Tomslake, a musical troupe consisting of musicians and dancers in German costumes entertaining on 100 Avenue. The Gaiety Theatre is seen behind them.

Greenway Dance Troupe

Greenway School Ukranian Dance Group in front of the Grande Prairie Barracks during World War II when they were entertaining the troops: Jean Mechanuk, Alice Zahara, Pauline Sandul, Mary Hudyma, Rose Rosko, May Sandul, Nancy ??, Ann Sandul.

Fonds consists of the administrative and operational records created, accumulated, and used by the Red Deer & District Museum Society during their activities programming and running the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery.

This includes committee reports, minutes, policies, newsletters, correspondence, grant reports, annual reports and financial statements, architectural plans for the Museum building, Heritage Community Foundation information, transcripts, audio and video recordings, and permission agreements for projects (including Gay Life Project and International Women's Exchange Program / SUCH program, and the Oral History project), exhibit posters and photographs (including Century Books of Honour), staff photographs, awards certificates, and the World's Most Boring Postcard.

Records also include items accumulated in the course of museum activities, including Red Deer Public School annual education reports accumulated through the Historica School Fairs activities, the Friends of Sunnybrook Farm Museum society, the Red Deer Native Friendship Centre, Heritage Canada, Red Deer & District Archives, and CARMN.

Starting Anew Management Committee

Fonds consists of the administrative and research materials created, accumulated, and used by the Starting Anew Management Committee during their activities creating the Starting Anew project collecting stories about and by immigrants to Canada.

The fonds includes both oral history interviews and written submissions from community members who immigrated in the second or third wave of immigration to the Central Alberta area. The project involved approximately 75 to 100 participants coming from other parts of Canada and 25 different countries. The fonds also includes promotional material, administrative material, information sheets and general notes. The types of records include minutes, planning related documents, transcripts, photographs, audio interviews, and video recordings.

The fonds consists of the records of the Avenue of Nations Business Association from its creation until its disestablishment by City Bylaw. The records include minutes, agendas, budgets, project files, and photographs of events held or attended by the Association. These events included Annual General Meetings, Heritage Days Parades, Children’s Carnivals, Lunar New Year Celebrations. and Green Day Cleanup events. Also included are two street lamp banners bearing the Avenue of Nations logo that were hung on street lamps in the BRZ when the Association was active.
