The scrapbook (which includes 150 photographs and newspaper clippings) and individual photographs depicts images along the Alaska Highway during its construction and completion, as well as scenes of Yukon and Alaska. There are also interesting shots of Major Nixon and his friends at social events and in their Whitehorse barracks. The textual records include newspaper clippings collected by Nixon; Northwest Service Command (NWSC) correspondence, minutes, notes, memos and reports; and a description of the Alaska Highway, possibly a news release.

The collection consists of an unprocessed accession (94/36) which includes approximately 955 photographs, brochures, periodicals, newspaper clippings, certificates and a press release documenting Dr. Aaro Aho's exploration and field work in the Yukon, especially related to Dynasty, Cyprus Anvil, Aex and Grumm, Goda and Plata projects. The collection also contains a copy of Dr. Aho's unpublished manuscript, "Notes on Keno Hill", written ca. 1972. In 27 chapters he details the history of the Keno Hill Silver District.

The fonds consists of images which primarily depict miners working in the Klondike gold fields surrounding Dawson City, 1901-1902. There are also interior and exterior views of businesses that operated in the Yukon as well as images of cabins, houses, residents and leisure activities in the Klondike region. The fonds also includes a few photographs by George C. Cantwell, another Dawson photographer. Specific locations include Bear Creek, Bonanza Creek, Caribou Village, Eldorado Creek, Gold Run Creek, Henry Gulch, Hunker Creek, Last Chance Creek, Lindow Creek, Mint Gulch. Businesses and organizations include the Dawson Exploration Company Department Store, Arctic Brotherhood Hall, Home Hotel, Cascade Steam laundry, Sixty Mile Lime Company, Dawson Flume Hose Factory, Yukon Order of Pioneers (YOOP) and the Post Office. There are also a number of portraits.

The fonds consists of two typed manuscripts entitled "Some Aspects of Yukon History" and "Perspective on Impact" submitted to the Alaska Highway Pipeline Inquiry. The authors are thought to be Roger McDonnell and Hugh Brody, however this has not been confirmed. The first paper "Some Aspects of Yukon History" includes the following chapters: The Original Population and Early Contacts; The Nature of the Fur Trade; The Gold Rush and Its Aftermath; Population and Change; Highways and Pipelines; Government in the Yukon; Fatalism and the Lessons of Yukon History; and Native Claims and the Development of Modern Yukon. The second paper "Perspective on Impact" includes the following headings: Perspective on Impact; Yukon and Development; and Assessing the Pipeline's Impact.

Included are scenes along the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR), Dyea, Sheep Camp, Chilkoot Pass, Bennett, Carcross, Whitehorse, Dawson City, Forty Mile, Mayo, sternwheelers, a portrait of William Ogilvie, the wreck of the sternwheeler "Columbian" on the Yukon River. Photographers include C.H. Metcalf, Winter & Pond, Case and Draper, Larss & Duclos, Goetzman, Wolfe, and Mizony.
