History
Mr. Innes-Taylor was a explorer, arctic expert, soldier, seaman , river boatman, author, poet, and lecturer. Mr. Innes-Taylor was born in February 12, 1900 and died January 14, 1983. Of the different awards he won, two stand out. First was the award for saving a woman's life off the coast of North Carolina in 1941, for which he received a Carnegie Hero Medal. The second award was a first level Commissioner's award presented to him in 1982 for his "outstanding record of service in the North, his efforts to preserve Yukon heritage and his promotion of safety in the wilderness.
