The Institute of Public Administration (IPAC), whose mission is to promote excellence in public service, was formed in Canada in 1947. It is an association of public servants, academics and others interested in public administration. The Institute has local groups in major cities across the country, including Calgary, Alberta. The organization leads public administration research in Canada and it has helped to export successful Canadian public sector expertise around the world. It publishes a journal, magazine, books, and case studies, holds conferences and confers awards.
