General note
This was not a "stopping place", but a cache for surveyors supplies, etc. It was built in 1907. Charlie Keller set up a boat building business here, with frame for whip sawing lumber. According to Shand Harvey, the odd shaped holes in the tree stumps were to hold one end of a paddle or oar while the handle was being smoothed with a spoke shave.
