General note
Dora Shapiro Spaner met and married Jack Spaner in Chicago. They then moved to Edson and subsequently to the peace region near Grande Prairie. When one of their sons, Bernard, was born, Dora wanted to take him to Edmonton to be circumcised. But the rail line was washed out and she had to live in a tent with her infant son for two weeks before the line was repaired and she could continue on her journey.
