General note
Photo shows group of men posing in front of buildings on the east side of Main Street (50 Street) between 49 Avenue and 50 Avenue. The image has been retouched by the photographer to show one of the men petting a bear. Buildings prominently featured are the T. B. Smith Block and the Edmonton City Dairy depot. The Smith Block was built in 1915 and became the Mitchell Block in 1919. It was destroyed by fire in October 1927. The men posing include Lawrence English, druggist, with "bear", C. E. Scharff beside his cream can, and Thomas B. Smith in shirt sleeves.
