<p>Jess Clark was born at Marlette, Michigan, U.S.A. in 1893 to Silas and Mary (Alexandra) Clark. He came to Millet, Alberta with his parents in 1900 and the family settled on a farm in the West Liberty District west of Millet.<p>He joined the army during World War I in March, 1918 and served as a Private with Alberta Regiment S.E.F. 13 M.D. 1st Depot Battalion until May, 1919. Following his discharge he returned to Millet where he farmed until his death in 1946.</p><br><br>
