Studio portrait of John E. Fraser. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, he moved to Edmonton in 1910 and to Wetaskiwin eight years later, where he served as City Clerk and Treasurer from 1918 to 1947. The Wetaskiwin Times for June 22, 1938 notes that Mr. Fraser was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Union of Alberta Municipalities for the ninth consecutive year. In August 1938 he was also appointed Lieutenant-Governor of the Alberta Kiwanis. Mr. Fraser passed away on November 21, 1952 at the age of 84.<br><br>
