Winners of the Secondary at the annual Wetaskiwin High School Bonspiel. From left to right: Warren Fonteyne, skip; Aubrey Harrison, 3rd; Harold Bowman, 2nd; and Muriel Clark, lead. The 1948 Wetaskiwin High School yearbook notes: "26 rinks entered from Central Alberta, three of which were from Wetaskiwin High. The Grand Challenge was won by an exceptionally fine rink from Ponoka. Two of our teams came through to take first and second place in the Secondary. Warren Fonteyne's team eliminated Ciss Groves' rink in a very close game to take the cup and crests for the High School.
