Consists of speeches made at a federal by-election in Medicine Hat, in which United Farmers of Alberta (Progressive) candidate Robert Gardiner soundly defeated his opponent, Lieut.-Col. Nelson Spencer, and become one of the first electoral successes of the farmers' movement. Includes speeches by Gardiner, Henry Wise Wood, and Irene Parlby. This material was collected by Walter Norman Smith, editor of the UFA newspaper.
