History

Hansel Gordon "Happy Jack" Jackson, 1861-1942, was born in North Carolina, USA and as a young man worked on ranches in the American southwest. He came to Alberta in 1903 and soon began working on the Mexico Ranch on the Red Deer River. In 1908 he homesteaded on a part of the ranch and lived there for the rest of his life.
