Biographical history

P22230 John A. Jackson joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry as part of the Regimental Band ca. 1935. He enlisted for overseas service 1 September 1939 but was Struck Off Strength 26 January 1941 and returned to Canada for further training at Camp Borden. He was a part of the #2 Provost Company Draft in 1943. In 2001 he was living in Edmonton, Alberta.

Scope and content

The fonds contains 16 photographs of Private John A. Jackson and other members of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (including Band members) at Fort Osborne Barracks, on parade and at other training facilities in Winnipeg, Manitoba during 1935-1939. Also included are 4 photographs of Private Jackson and others during the Second World War, 5 photographs of military vehicles, 2 photographs of the Regimental Band Trooping with the Royal Canadian Air Force Band, 1947, 8 photographs of various Regimental Association activities in the 1980s and 1990s, a pass issued while stationed in England, a Victory Bond Certificate and a newsclipping of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 1939.
