Biographical history
John W. McClung was born in Edmonton on July 15, 1935. He was admitted to the bar in 1960, and practiced law in Edmonton with McClung and Baker. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1973 and was appointed to the Supreme Court of Alberta in 1976. He has been a member of the Court of Appeal of Alberta since 1980.
Custodial history
These photographs appear to have been at one time displayed at the Court of Appeal in Edmonton. They came into the hands of McClung, who transferred them to the archives. They may at one time have belonged to individual justices on the court, who abandoned them there when they retired.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of photograph of judges, law society members attending activities, courtrooms with presiding judges, special events at court, judge's meetings, and other activities.
