The Kensington Sinfonia was founded in Calgary, Alberta in 1988 by John Lowry of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and freelance musicians. The artists perform a wide range of chamber music and string orchestra repertoire. The group has frequently commissioned works by Calgary composers and often presents the Calgary premieres of Canadian compositions. They perform at Hope Lutheran Church in Calgary. Musical directors have included Edmond Agopian and Donovan Seidle.
