Biographical history

The Garden City Lodge No. 322 of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Alberta of the Ladies' Orange Benevolent Association was started in Red Deer in November 1920, as part of an attempt to expand the number of primary lodges of that Protestant women's organization throughout the province. The Ladies' Orange Benevolent Association (founded in 1891 and incorporated in 1894) is part of the Loyal Orange Association of Canada (incorporated in 1890). It is an adjunct to the male Loyal Orange Order, and is dedicated to charity works, especially the support of Protestant orphanages. The Garden City Lodge is currently one of only four active Alberta lodges of the Ladies' Orange Benevolent Association.
