The first meeting of the Lake McGregor Golf Club was held in April, 1961, with Vic Bertrand acting as temporary chairman. Following the election of officers, membership fees were set at $ 5.00 for men, $2.50 for women and school children; green fees were set at .50 for week days and $1.00 for weekends and holidays.
The course was established on land leased by the Lake McGregor Memorial Park Association, and an arrangement was made with the Racing Association to purchase a half-share in the pari-mutuel shed to be used as a temporary clubhouse. A permanent clubhouse was purchased in 1962.

The fonds consists of minutes books, membership lists, receipts, financial statements and cheque registers from the Lake McGregor Golf Club, as well as a hand-drawn course map, the results of one undated tournament, one rubber stamp and 2 black and white photographs.
