Biographical history

Margaret Johnston came to Jasper in the late sixties. She was a school teacher and taught various classes at Jasper Junior/Senior High School. She was the Vice Principal for a period of time. She was married to John A. Johnston, a long time resident of Jasper and a member of the Volunteer Fire Brigade. Margaret was President of the Jasper Yellowhead Historical Society, member of the Jasper Library Board, Arts Jasper. Among her many interests and contributions to the community was her talent for gardening. The Johnstons lived on Miette Avenue along the 800 block. Margaret and John retired to an acreage outside of Hinton and after John died, Margaret moved into the town of Hinton, Alberta.

The fonds consists of a pay stub record from the Edson School Division for Miss M. Snedker (1969); a Japser Park Lodge Reunion agenda for JPL staff reunion weekend (1992) and a photograph of the Raven totem pole in Jasper National Park.
