History
Evelyn Slater, 1903-?, was born in North Dakota, USA and came to the Consort area of Alberta with her great-aunt and uncle, Wesley and Ellen Williams, in 1909. She attended Willow Brook School. The family returned to the USA in about 1915, and she later married and settled in Seattle, Washington. She was the author of several articles about her early life in North Dakota and Alberta including Footprints Long Ago : Poems and Prose / Seattle : E.S. McLeod, 1989; and Prairie Schooners and Whippletrees / Decorah, Iowa : Anundsen Publishing Company, 1993.
