Biographical history

Meta Miller Turnbull arrived in Dawson City, Yukon in ca. 1903-1904 with her parents, Elisha and Jenny Miller. She married William Thomas Golightly Turnbull in 1914 in Dawson City. William Turnbull came from New Zealand via South Africa.

Custodial history

Miriam MacDonald inherited this material from her mother Meta Miller Turnbull. The Dawson City Museum acquired this material from Miriam MacDonald in 1990.

Scope and content

This fonds contains photographs of Meta Miller Turnbull's family in the ca. 1903-1930 era during their stay in Dawson City, Yukon. The collection contains early photographs of Gold Bottom, Hunker Creek, Bear Creek and Dawson City. A large number of the photographs are identified.
