Biographical history

Michael Wallace Jennings, 1889-1976, was educated at the University of New Brunswick and graduated as a civil engineer in 1911. In 1927 he came to Calgary following a recommendation from C.D. Howe and Company and began working as the superintendent of construction for Alberta Pool Elevators Limited. He retired ca. 1956. He and his wife, Margaret Anne, 1894-1981, had one son, Edward Wallace, 1924- . During the Second World War Margaret was a member of the Navy League of Canada which sent ditty bags overseas. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force Benevolent Fund ca. 1944 and helped raise funds for a number of years.

The fonds consists of Navy League of Canada annual reports and knitting book for ditty bags; RCAF Benevolent Fund annual reports, newsletters, correspondence, guidebook and membership lists; and an appraisal book for Alberta Pool Elevators Limited.
