Administrative history

The Millet Light Horse Association was starting in 1956 to provide opportunities to train and perform equiculture. The first President of the organization was Lyle McKinney. The organization began at Tom Gowan’s farm, where events related to Gymkana took place, including barrel racing and pole bending. The group had separate events for Women, Men and Children. In 1965-1969 a corral was built in Millet, and the organization would host events tied in with Millet Days, including participating in the annual parade. This became the big annual event the organization hosted.
