Administrative history
The town of Millet formed the Millet Economic Development and Tourism
Committee in the early 1990’s. This committee would later change its name to the Parks and Recreation Committee. It is most commonly known as the Tourism Action Committee. The mandate of the committee was to promote locale businesses, culture, and recreation and make Millet visitor friendly. The committee first worked with the Battle River Tourist Association, and then the Battle River Alliance for Economic Development. Later they would work with the Edmonton Regional Tourism Group. The Village Council withdrew support of the committee in 2008, but re-established the committee in 2011 and approval officially establishing the committee passed through council in 2012, named the Millet Tourism Committee.
Custodial history
Records are a combination of items that were donated by Carol Sadoroszney
and culled from the Millet and District Historical Society’s files relating to the Millet Tourism program. The two collections were merged and cleared of duplicate materials.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of the business administrative records of the Millet Tourism Committee as well as records documenting their participation with the Edmonton Regional Tourism Group, Alberta Visitor Information Providers and the Battle River Alliance for Economic Development.
