History
Cleo Walter Mowers, 1915- , was born on a farm near Sibbald, Alberta. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1938 and also studied theology at St. Andrew's College in Saskatoon. While in university, he became editor of the student newspaper and became interested in a career in journalism. He worked for the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix, the Free Press Prairie Farmer (Winnipeg), and the Albertan (Calgary). In 1960 he was appointed Publisher and Editor of the Lethbridge Herald. He retired in 1980 with the title of Editor Emeritus.
