Hugh Munro was the son of Hugh Munro, who was initially from Scotland, but immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1836, and later moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Son Hugh married Margaret Ann (Maggie) Owen (born July 17, 1869) in 1881, and they initially lived in Livingston, Montana. They had one child, Margaret Hughina Munro, who was born April 7, 1886 in Montana; a second daughter, Lila, was born in 1888 but died in 1892. Hugh, a Northern Pacific locomotive engineer, was killed at Grey Cliff, Montana in a train wreck in 1888. Margaret later married Perry Sharpe. Margaret Hughina (Gretta) Munro married Dr. George Leslie (Les) Williamson (born March 17, 1884 in Peterborough, Ontario) on February 26, 1913 in Calgary, Alberta. They arrived in Edmonton, Alberta in 1914. Les was a physician. The couple had two children: Donald Munro born October 21, 1914, and Roger born March 8, 1920 (died May 24, 1941).

Donald Munro Williamson, born October 21, 1914, was the son of Margaret Hughina (Gretta) Munro and Dr. George Leslie (Les) Williamson, who arrived in Edmonton, Alberta in 1914. Known as Munro, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Munro was also an Honourary Aide-de-Camp to the Lieutenant Governor. He finished a medical degree in 1950. He and his wife Grace (Eggleston) had three children: Louise, Hugh Munro and Roger.

The fonds consists of correspondence, insurance agreements, warranty deeds, financial records, photographs of family and friends, a marriage certificate, invitations and genealogical notes.
