Biographical history

Ollby Osborn McKenzie was born on November 4, 1910 at Moyie, B.C. and died about April 24, 1971 at Gladys Lake, 40 miles east of Atlin, B.C. "Jack" was his nickname. He was a long-time prospector, trapper and woodcutter who had worked extensively throughout the Yukon and northern B.C.

Textual records consist of Mr. McKenzie's diaries, ledgers and cash books describing his life and work experience in Mayo, Pelly, Minto, and Ross River, Yukon and Atlin, BC. The photograph depicts men rolling logs on a river bank.
