Ann and John Ogilvy were both born in Scotland in 1928. They met on a ski bus in 1954 and were married in Edinburgh in February 1955. In March 1957 they emigrated to Canada (Vancouver). In 1962 John joined Halcrows as their Chief Engineer. It was while he was with Halcrows that he did foundation and structural engineering for the Jasper Tramway. Their children Karen (1960), Ron (1961), and Douglas(1965) attended school in Jasper. John has held many volunteer positions in Jasper including: President of the Chamber of Commerce and School Trustee, Chairman of the Pontiac Cup, and Justice of the Peace, to name a few. Ann was a founding member of Arts Jasper. The Ogilvy family are all avid skiers and were involved with the Jasper Ski club.
