Biographical history
A re-organization of Board committees took place in December 1986. At that time, the Finance Committee and the Business and Building Committee were discharged, and the Planning and Budget Committee and the Operations and Finance Committee were created. At that time, the Operations and Finance Committee took over the duties that had previously been assigned to the Finance Committee. The terms of reference for the Operations and Finance Committee were: a) Review and make recommendations concerning university finance, business policies and procedures which require Board approval, long term leases, campus safety, tuition fees, and protection and care of physical assets of the university; and b) Responsible to the Board of Governors for the activities of the Investment Committee. A subsequent re-organization of the committee structure undertaken by the Board of Governors resulted is rescinding the terms of reference for the Planning and Budget and the Operations and Finance Committees in April 1992, and creating a new Planning and Finance Committee.
