Function: The mission of the order was "The cultivation of manliness in muscle, mind and morals" and more definitively stated, "To promote mutual and helpful friendships among boys, to give wider circulation to high class boys' literature; to cultivate in boys physical and moral courage, and develop them along social, intellectual and moral lines". Other Information: "The Order of the American Boy" was a "National Non-Secret Society for American Boys" organized by the publishers of the periodical, "The American Boy". The Order had members across the States and membership was open to anyone (man, woman, boy or girl) who was a paid-up yearly subscriber to "The American Boy" (the official organ of the Order).

Also included in the fonds is a copy of handwritten minutes and bookkeeping records of a Dawson City Chapter of the Order of the American Boy.
