History

The Order of the Eastern Star was established in 1850 by Robert Morris of Boston. It has approximately 10,000 chapters in twenty countries, including Canada. Membership is open to those 18 years of age, mostly women, who have specific relationships to Masons. Unity Chapter No.26 was established in Calgary, Alberta in 1916 and Wimodausis Chapter No.70 was established in Bowden, Alberta in about 1927.
