Biographical history

Ovide Boisvert was born in Morinville, Alberta in 1906 to Joseph Boisvert and his wife Angelina (Desroches). In 1925 he married Rose Alma Caouette who was born in St. Liboire, Quebec in 1903 to Joseph Caouette and his wife Ernestine (Lambert). They had seven children : Teresa, Rolande, Joe, Alice, Real, Francoise, and Simone. Ovide did carpenter work and custom threshing. In 1941 he bought the Onesime Bergeron farm SE7-67-21 W4 and moved his family to the Parkhurst District near Athabasca. In 1973 Ovide and Rose Alma moved into a house that he had built in Athabasca. In 1979 they moved to the Heritage Lodge in Morinville wher Ovide died in 1980. Rose Alma died there in 1997.

The fonds consists of photographs of the following subject headings : Boisvert family, harvesting, hayrack, horse and sled, road passage cut through snow, and well drillers. There is a brief family biography written by Alice Sale (Boisvert).
