Biographical history

Dan and Burd Patton were married in Winterset, Iowa, USA in 1891 and came to Calgary, Alberta in 1902. They soon settled on a farm at Midnapore, Alberta with their three sons, Frank, Joe and Clinton. The Pattons raised sheep on their farm and Dan was well-known as a bird conservationist.
