Biographical history
Between 1937 and 1978, a temporary reference library was provided for participants in summer programmes. A permanent library facility was established in 1979 to provide bibliographic and multi-media resources to faculty, staff, and participants in Centre for the Arts programs. The Archives was established in 1990 to maintain custody, preserve, and make available the inactive records of the Centre and donated records of affiliated individuals and organizations. The department was renamed The Paul D. Fleck Library and Archives in 1997. Directors include Robert Foley (1979-1993) and Patrick Lawless (1993-).
