Administrative history

The Peace Country Sports Therapy Group was formed in June of 1995 with Julie McCargar as president, Michelle Boulet as Secretary/Treasurer and Kendra Mulligan as scheduler. Their pupose was to service sporting events by offering sports therapy and massage. The group was given 6 kits (a legacy from the Canada Winter Games held in Grande Prairie in 1995) to get started. Finances were an issue until the group was given a grant in 1997 from Alberta Sport and Recreation. The Peace Country Sports Therapy Association attended various events like the Brain Harms Run, the Press Run and Bike for Breath. They also attended a wide variety of events to offer therapy to the atheletes.

The Peace Country Sports Therapy Association slowly began to meet less often as members moved away or had less time to devote. In 2010 the Peace Country Sports Therapy Assn was able to gift the last of their money to assist with the costs of the Arctic Winter Games.
