Biographical history
Pearl Wilson arrived in Grande Prairie with her family in the 1960s. Originally from northern Alberta, they moved here as a result of Pearl’s father’s job with the railway. Pearl worked in the local media for a number of years, including the Daily Herald Tribune (1970 – 1975), the Booster – later Grande Prairie This Week (1975 – 1978) and radio station CJXX (Oct 1979 – 1989). After she left CJXX, Pearl started her own marketing business, Pearl Wilson Advertising and Promotions. During this time, she also served as Constituency Assistant to MLS Wayne Jacques and was Marketing Coordinator for Crystal Lake Estates. After she retired from marketing she opened an antique called Calico Cat Antiques and Collectibles. The store operated for eight years before she retired.
Pearl is married to Brian Wilson and they still reside in Grande Prairie.
