Biografie
Peter McCarter lived in Dawson City during the Klondike gold rush. He was a blacksmith.
Geschiedenis beheer
The album passed from Peter McCarter to his nephew John Young McCarter (1886-1981). His grandniece, Joan C. McCarter presented the album to the City of Whitehorse in June 1989. The City of Whitehorse donated it to Yukon Archives in August 1989.
Bereik en inhoud
The fonds consists of photographs collected and mounted by Peter McCarter into an album. The photographs depict the Klondike Gold Rush, with views of Chilkoot Pass, Bonanza and Eldorado Creeks, July 4, 1901 celebrations, Whitehorse rapids, thermometers in the winter, etc. Most of the photographs were taken by Cantwell Photo of Dawson.
